Compensation: Base Salary Approximately $90,000 + Incentive Compensation

We are seeking an experienced Commercial New Construction Plumbing Account Representative to expand our presence within the contractor market and drive growth across a well-established territory.
Position SummaryThe Commercial New Construction Plumbing Account Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with plumbing, mechanical, and general contractors throughout the territory. This role focuses on identifying project opportunities, reviewing plans and specifications, influencing product selection, generating bid opportunities, and driving profitable sales growth.
The ideal candidate understands the commercial construction sales cycle, has experience calling on contractors, and can quickly establish credibility with customers. Success in this role requires persistence, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex construction projects from bidding through completion.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain relationships with plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and general contractors.
Identify and pursue new commercial construction project opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
Review construction plans, specifications, and project documents to identify sales opportunities.
Generate and manage project quotations in collaboration with internal estimating and project management teams.
Conduct regular jobsite visits, contractor meetings, and customer presentations.
Prospect for new business and expand market share within the territory.
Track project opportunities from design and bidding stages through project completion.
Maintain accurate customer and project information within CRM systems.
Collaborate with estimating, project management, customer service, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
Consistently meet or exceed sales, activity, and gross margin objectives.
Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
Required QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of outside sales experience serving commercial contractors.
Proven experience selling into the commercial construction market.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
Experience building relationships with plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, or general contractors.
Demonstrated success developing new business opportunities and growing sales within a territory.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory.
Proficient computer and CRM skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred QualificationsPlumbing industry experience.
Experience working with construction bidding processes and project tracking.
Existing contractor relationships within the Maryland, Washington DC, or Northern Virginia markets.
Knowledge of pumps, plumbing systems, mechanical equipment, or commercial construction products.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Territory & TravelTerritory includes Frederick, Baltimore, Washington DC Beltway, and Northern Virginia.
Significant local travel is required.
Frequent contractor visits, jobsite meetings, and project reviews are expected.
Candidates should be comfortable spending substantial time in the field and navigating a high-traffic territory.
