The Event Sales Manager at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA is primarily responsible for booking high‑revenue producing events within all event spaces of the Convention Center, including, but not limited to, association business, conventions, conferences, trade shows, public, private, social, and corporate events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Uses sales and marketing principles to promote the facility, attract new business, and increase or maximize revenue potential.
- Sends client pre‑event information and follow‑up information that affects booking.
- Contract and budget management: drafting license agreements, negotiating rates, preparing payment schedules, and collections.
- Develops long‑term sales strategies to increase convention services and optimize profits.
- Works with Destination Marketing Organization and other hospitality and tourism partners, such as hotels, to analyze economic impact of Convention Center events and overall facility.
- Conducts familiarization tours, site visits, and makes presentations to clients and trade industry professionals.
- Maintains relationships with Convention Center service providers, decorators, and vendors.
- Collaborates with internal colleagues across all departments to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Develops and delivers on sales goals and metrics.
- Works closely with Food & Beverage hospitality team internally to sell and boost banquet and catering business and with Event Management team on accurate staffing estimates and labor calls.
- Acts as Manager on Duty on a rotating monthly schedule.
- Work hours can vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises the Event Services staff when performing Manager on Duty responsibilities, which are carried out in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s Degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Minimum 3 years sales‑related experience required.
- Facility/industry experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- High aptitude for figures and advanced writing skills.
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet software and work processing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including management.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel as needed.
Yearly Salary Range $70,000 - $85,000.
