Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking an Intern in Vulnerability Management to support our global Vulnerability Management team within the Corporate Information Security Department (CISD). The 12‑week summer internship runs from June through August and is based in Reston, VA, with the option to work hybrid or fully remote.
Responsibilities- Create and document individual component standards for the vulnerability management tool suite.
- Test potential configuration options in our vulnerability management lab environment.
- Analyze the pros and cons of different configuration options and document the rationale for selections.
- Provide management with regular updates on progress.
- Respond to internal customer queries regarding vulnerability management.
- Support the Vulnerability Management team on ad‑hoc projects.
- Provide lab support and configuration guidance for various Sony security teams.
- Maintain knowledge of outstanding and existing vulnerability management issues.
- Adhere to honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct.
- All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail‑oriented, with the ability to multitask and quickly apply new concepts to accomplish assignments.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passionate about coding and automation.
- Previous experience through work or internship preferred.
The hourly rate for this internship depends on education level: $24.00 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $25.00–$27.00 per hour for graduate candidates. All interns are paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
