Overview

Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy focuses on processing and dispensing prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations using automation. While not patient facing, the role supports retail pharmacies so they can provide clinical services to the community. This position seeks a Specialist in Physical Security at the Frederick, MD facility.

Schedule & Compensation

Flex position (Sundays 5:30am–5:30pm; Thursdays & Fridays 3pm–11:30pm). Various shifts, 36–40hours per week. Schedule may change with short notice. Base salary $23.00 per hour. Hourly wage range $23.00–$44.00; actual rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the location. Premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour may apply for certain schedules or duties.

Role Summary

The Specialist, Physical Security protects company sites by developing, implementing, and maintaining security protocols, training, and emergency response strategies. Responsibilities include threat assessment, incident command, tactical response, system maintenance, investigation of breaches, and ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

About the Team

The Physical Security team enforces protocols, creates emergency plans, conducts training, and delivers tactical responses. They partner with internal and external groups to maintain safety and compliance, focusing on threat detection, incident response, and crisis management to protect associates, visitors, and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support development and implementation of security protocols, programs, and training to enhance safety and meet corporate standards.
  • Respond to emergencies by initiating incident command and providing mandatory tactical security responses.
  • Implement and monitor security systems, including alarms, intrusion detection, threat management, and crisis response.
  • Investigate reported threats, policy violations, and security breaches, and assist with mitigation efforts.
  • Ensure regulatory and corporate policy compliance, identifying and addressing safety and security issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain a secure environment and provide effective emergency response.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 1‑year experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in physical security operations, including emergency and incident response.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis and threat management protocols.
  • Ability to implement and improve security systems, procedures, and training programs.
  • Experience responding to life‑safety events such as active shooter, fire, and severe weather.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (OSHA, PCI, fire codes).
  • Effective collaboration with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and adherence to company policies.
  • Clear, timely communication during emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Complete all core components of the Physical Security Specialist Training Academy within 90 days of hire and maintain them during employment.
  • 1year experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Corporate Security, Emergency Operations, Law Enforcement background.
  • Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or Sociology.
  • CPR/BCLS certification.
