Work Schedule:
Part-Time (19 Hours/week) Hourly Rate: $15.00/hour
This position is responsible for:
Monitoring the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance with center rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that the center is maintained in a neat and proper order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors the activities of the program inside and outside of immediate center area ensuring safety and compliance with center rules; makes periodic rounds of center area; records any incidents occurring on the assigned shift.
- Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective actions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Completes required paperwork recording program participants for the day including volunteers.
- Maintains cleanliness of bathrooms and sitting areas.
- Maintains beverage station throughout the day.
- Assist in picking up Day Center supplies (as needed).
- Assist with all verbal and physical aggressions that might occur from program participants.
- Attend meetings as requested by the Social Services Program Manager and/or Corps Officers.
- Maintains contact with the Social Services Program Manager.
- Directs program participants to appropriate agency representatives.
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
- Work is performed in a center facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
What We Are Looking For In You:
- High school diploma or GED AND one (1) year experience performing security or working with vulnerable population, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and
Certifications:
- Valid State Driver's License.
