We are looking for a Field Service & Installation Technician with a strong foundation in telecommunications, cabling, and basic networking. While this role includes occasional tower climbing (approximately once per week), the majority of your time will be spent supporting customers across the region with service calls, equipment installs, troubleshooting, and telecom‑related field work. This position is ideal for candidates with field service, low‑voltage cabling, or telecom support experience who are also willing and able to climb when required.

The right candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working directly with customers in the field.
HoursMonday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional after‑hours work based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform telecom‑focused field service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, and customer support.
- Install, terminate, test, and repair Category 3/5/5e cabling (RJ45, wall jacks, 66/110 blocks) following TIA‑568B standards.
- Install and maintain telecom and network hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, ATAs, wireless access points, microwave radios, and dishes.
- Support NOC engineers during service activations and remote troubleshooting.
- Install structured cabling components including patch panels, conduit, racks, cabinets, UPS, PDU, and NEMA enclosures.
- Use test equipment such as power meters, cable toners, and laptops to diagnose issues.
- Learn and utilize company software, hardware, and internal systems.
- Perform tower climbs up to 300 feet (approximately once per week) to install or replace equipment.
- Participate in rotating on‑call shifts as part of the 24/7 support team.
- Com Train (or equivalent) tower certification or willingness to complete certification after hire
. - Ability to distinguish cable colors and work safely with telecom wiring.
- Experience with basic networking, cabling, or telecom field service strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using test equipment and basic troubleshooting tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document work clearly.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed and respond to callouts within 60 minutes.
- Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in telecom, field service, low‑voltage cabling, installations, or data/communications preferred.
- Candidates with field service backgrounds who are willing to climb are strongly encouraged to apply.
- On‑the‑job training, including tower certification and technical skill development.
