We are seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Installation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be trusted to deliver high-quality installation and repair services while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You will take ownership of your work, apply your technical knowledge to get the job done right the first time, and follow all site protocols and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, energetic, and adaptable, with strong problem‑solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies. The standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; however, some evening, weekend, and on‑call work may be required based on business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide installation and repair services to business customers
- Serve as remote hands for NOC engineers during service activation and troubleshooting
- Install, terminate, test, and repair Category 3, 5, and 5E premise wiring in accordance with TIA‑568B standards (including RJ45 connectors, biscuit and wall jacks, 66/110 punch‑down blocks)
- Install premise hardware including plywood backboards, conduit, structured cabling, patch panels, UPS, PDU, relay racks, data cabinets, and NEMA boxes
- Install and configure network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, Analog Telephone Adapters, media converters, wireless access points, microwave radios, and dishes
- Climb and work on towers to install, replace, or maintain equipment
- Utilize company software, hardware, and related systems effectively
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule as part of our 24/7 support model
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet while carrying up to 50 lbs., and up to 150 feet while carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. consistently
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or elevated spaces for extended periods
- Ability to distinguish between cable colors
- Current Com Train (or equivalent) tower climbing certification, or ability to successfully complete Com Train certification after hire
- Experience testing equipment such as power meters, cable toners, and laptops
- Strong computer proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to standby/callout within 60 minutes when required
- Must pass a pre‑employment background check, including a valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of experience in the data/communications industry preferred
