Job Description Mechanic A Technician, performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Installs equipment,engines,hoses,batteries,tires,wheels/brakes,HVAC,wiring,etc.,orprogramstomeetspecifications. Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly. Service, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.

Inspects equipment, structures, etc., of materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Analyzes information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Starting Pay $41.76 - $44.06

* Adjustandrelinebrakes,align wheels,tightenboltsandscrews,andreassembleequipment.
* Alignfrontendsandsuspensionsystems.
* Attachtestinstruments toequipmentandreaddialsandgauges inordertodiagnosemalfunctions.
* Disassembleandoverhaulinternalcombustionengines,pumps,generators,transmissions,clutches,and differential units.
* Examineandadjust protective guards,loose bolts,andspecifiedsafetydevices.
* Inspectbrakesystems,steering mechanisms,wheel bearings,andotherimportantpartstoensurethattheyare in proper operating condition.
* Inspect,repair,andmaintainautomotiveandmechanicalequipmentandmachinerysuchaspumpsand compressors.
* Inspect,test,andlistentodefectiveequipmenttodiagnosemalfunctions,usingtestinstrumentssuchas handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
* Operate valve-grindingmachinestogrindandreset valves.
* Performroutinemaintenancesuchaschangingoil,checking batteries,andlubricatingequipmentand machinery.
* Raise trucks,buses,andheavypartsorequipmentusinghydraulicjacksorhoists.
* Reconditionandreplaceparts,pistons,bearings,gears,and valves.
* Repairandadjustseats,doors,and windows,andinstallandrepairaccessories.
* Rewireignitionsystems,lights,andinstrumentpanels.
* Inspectandverifydimensionsandclearancesofpartstoensureconformancetofactory specifications.
* Specializeinrepairingandmaintainingpartsofthe engine,suchasfuelinjectionsystems.
* Test drivetrucksandbusestodiagnosemalfunctionsortoensurethattheyareworkingproperly.
* Usehandtoolssuchasscrewdrivers,pliers,wrenches,pressure gauges,andprecisioninstruments,aswellas power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
* Otherdutiestoensurethe safeoperationandefficiencyofthe department.### Requirements Mechanic A:
* 5+ years’ experience.
* Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair the most difficult of all vehicle and equipment service.
* Must be able to teach Mechanic B and C as time permits, more complex repair techniques.
* Must demonstrate superior mechanical skills and mentoring capabilities.
* Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot andrepairthemost difficultofall vehiclesandequipment inservice.
* Must beable toteach

* Must demonstrate superior customer service skills and mentoring capabilities as well as perform other duties to ensure the safe operation and efficiency of the department.
