Job Description:
Kaempf & Harris, a division of R.W. Warner, Inc., is hiring experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics. Sheet Metal Mechanics will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for facility maintenance and installation programs.
Candidates would have the ability to read and interpret drawings and install duct and duct accessories. They would work with other mechanics and helpers, and assist in directing them in a manner that ensures materials are installed properly, keeps the schedule, maintains a high level of productivity, and follows all safety and quality standards.
Kaempf & Harris has been serving Frederick and the surrounding area for over 70 years. We are family‑owned, and many of our employees spend their entire careers at Kaempf & Harris. Our projects are typically located within 40 miles of Frederick, MD.
Job Duties /Responsibilities:- Consult blueprints, work orders, and/or schematic to safely construct specified structure; develop additional sketches if needed.
- Select appropriate material for each job based on desired or necessary strength.
- Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
- Measure, cut, and weld pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
- Connect pieces or secure seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
- Perform assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
- Use appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
- Coordinate required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
- Develop and maintain records for projects and repairs.
- Maintain clean and orderly workspace.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
- Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.
- Must be dependable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Shop fabrication and/or field installation work.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and job site conditions.
- May require overtime, evenings, or weekends based on project needs.

Employment Type: Full‑Time
Salary Range: $24-$30 per hour (Salary will be determined based on experience)
