Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic
LocationDMV Region (VA / MD / DC)
PayCompetitive hourly pay based on experience. Prevailing Wage Opportunities: $60-$75 per hour when available depending on project classification.
OverviewVertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics to support our growing mechanical construction projects across the DMV region. This role focuses on the installation of commercial ductwork and sheet metal HVAC systems on new construction and renovation projects.
Types of Projects- Multifamily and mixed‑use developments
- Universities and educational facilities
- Healthcare and medical buildings
- Office buildings and tenant fit‑outs
- Hospitality and hotel projects
- Install commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Perform layout and installation of air distribution systems
- Install dampers, fittings, and related HVAC components
- Operate lifts, power tools, and installation equipment
- Maintain job site safety standards and cleanliness
- Work with Foremen and crews to meet project schedules
- 2+ years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Familiar with hand tools and installation equipment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the DMV region
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
