Location: 1301 E Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21701
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM — 3:30 PM
Pay: $27.75 per hour

As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

Main Responsibilities- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Performing preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and replacement, lubrication and replacement of components, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partnering with a manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
- Working on additional projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Basic computer skills
- Compliance with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
- Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including use of proper tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Compliance with DOT driver qualification requirements, including annual MVR checks, DOT physical, safety performance history, and, for CDL holders, drug screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
- Willingness to work the required schedule, location, complete Penske employment application, background screening, drug screen, physical, and potential travel within a near geography for training
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods throughout the scheduled working period
- Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, or otherwise operate required tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated platforms
- Operate safely in all weather conditions
- Navigate a workplace with frequent large truck traffic, requiring vision and hearing to safely move around
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push or pull truck tires that exceed 100 lbs
