Maintenance Technician II
Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible; additional compensation to include: uniform and safety shoe allowance, County-issued tool and PPE, available trade schooling through partnership with HCC/John Barr Construction Institute, paid HVAC training with assorted manufacturers, CDL training); full-time; 40 hours per week;
Monday-Friday; 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; full benefits
The Maintenance Technician II assists in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related building systems across County facilities. Work is normally performed under the guidance of experienced technicians and includes learning established trade practices, developing troubleshooting skills, and supporting preventive maintenance and renovation activities. The apprentice receives training, follows instructions and technical guidance from a higher-level Maintenance Technician.
Supervision is received from Maintenance Technician Supervisor.

The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate, with limited exception.

NOTE:
Benefited employees will accrue service and leave based on the FTE and/or hours worked per calendar year.
Assist with the repair, and installation of HVAC or plumbing and the related building systems across County facilities
Assist with diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, help to determine appropriate corrective actions, and assist with repairs with limited supervision
Assist with routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
Review work orders, blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to complete assigned tasks accurately
Assist with renovation and improvement projects, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general construction tasks
Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used, ensuring accurate documentation
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials to support ongoing maintenance operations
Prioritize assigned work tasks to meet operational needs and timelines
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, building codes, and applicable regulations while performing all work
