Forklift and Travel Lift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to operate marine forklifts and travel lifts while supporting daily yard operations. This role is essential to safely hauling, launching, and moving vessels, as well as maintaining an organized and efficient marina yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate marine forklifts and travel lifts to haul, launch, and transport vessels safely
• Block, store, and position boats in the yard according to marina standards
• Assist with spring launches, fall haul-outs, and daily boat movements
• Inspect equipment before use and report maintenance or safety issues
• Perform general yard duties including cleaning, organizing, and assisting technicians
• Assist with dock work, line handling, and customer interactions as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment (forklift, travel lift, or similar) preferred
• Ability to learn safe boat handling and rigging procedures
• Strong work ethic and reliability—punctuality is critical
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Skills

• Previous marina or boatyard experience
• Knowledge of vessel handling and blocking techniques
• Basic mechanical or maintenance skills
• Experience with hydraulic equipment
