OverviewAWP Safety is looking for motivated individuals to embark on a rewarding career as a Traffic Control Supervisor. This position is perfect for those who thrive in diverse environments and seek a dynamic career path without a college degree. Prior management experience in retail, food service, or construction is desirable.
Responsibilities- Supervise flaggers and ensure company, federal, state, and local standards are met.
- Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed.
- Follow safety rules and regulations on all work zones and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices.
- Implement and field‑adjust Traffic Control Plans.
- Maintain a safe work area on highways, municipal roads, rights‑of‑way, and rural roads.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum age 18.
- Acceptable driving record and safe driving habits.
- Current driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Report.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions when required and necessary.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and meet job demands.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry at least 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to document work thoroughly and clearly in various software.
- Availability to work Monday‑Friday (early mornings), overtime, nights, and weekends when required and necessary.
- Pre‑employment drug screen.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possess two forms of valid .
- Hands‑on, self‑sufficient with a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Outdoor working or construction experience is preferred.

- Rigorous 6‑week company‑paid training on the job and ongoing training for 2 years.
- Paid ATSSA and Smith Driving Training.

$22.00 - $28.00/hr.
Career Advancement OpportunityThis apprenticeship prepares employees for future growth within AWP. Apprentices who successfully complete all program requirements and meet performance and business needs may be considered for promotion opportunities with potential earnings up to approximately $35.00/hr.
