RCYCP Supervisor

The RCYCP Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Frederick, MD, responsible for overseeing residential child and youth care staff and ensuring a safe, supportive living environment for students. The supervisor coordinates daily residential routines, monitors student activities, and ensures adherence to school policies and care standards. This role includes scheduling and supervising RCYCP staff, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting training and professional development.

The RCYCP Supervisor collaborates with educational and clinical teams, communicates with families as needed, and completes required documentation and incident reports in a timely and accurate manner. The position also involves participating in crisis intervention, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and modeling positive, respectful communication with students and staff.

• Experience supervising child and youth care staff or similar residential programs, with skills in team leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and best practices for supporting residential students.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including scheduling, documentation, and attention to safety and compliance requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage respectfully with students and families.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, apply de‑scalation techniques, and participate in crisis intervention when needed.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice in a diverse school community; experience working with Deaf and hard of hearing students is highly beneficial.
• Fluency in American Sign Language is required for this position.
• Relevant education or certification in residential child and youth care, social services, special education, or a related field; prior experience in school or residential programs preferred.
