Company: Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division.

The AI/ML Engineering Intern will support the development, testing, and deployment of machine learning models and AI-driven solutions. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and data scientists, this role contributes to real-world projects involving data processing, model experimentation, and software integration. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to learn modern AI and machine learning techniques in a practical, collaborative environment.

• Assist in designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models for various business use cases.
• Support data collection, preprocessing, cleaning, and feature engineering tasks.
• Help build scalable ML pipelines and contribute to model deployment efforts.
• Conduct research on new algorithms, frameworks, and tools to improve model performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into applications or systems.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and agile development processes.
• Analyze results, prepare reports, and present findings to project stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot issues and help optimize existing models or workflows.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and feature engineering.
• Experience with Python and ML libraries such as Num Py, pandas, scikit-learn, Tensor Flow or PyTorch.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Clearance:
  May be required to obtain a secret security clearance.

• May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
