The Cloud Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software Big‑Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements. The engineer contributes to all stages of back‑end processing, analyzing and indexing. They provide expertise in Cloud Computing, Hadoop Eco‑System, implementing Java applications, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval, and Object‑Oriented Design. The engineer works individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements, documents test results, resolves software problem reports, and utilizes appropriate software development methodologies.
The role also requires input to system design, including hardware/software trade‑offs, software reuse, the use of COTS/GOTS, and requirements synthesis from system level to individual components.
- Provide in‑depth knowledge of Information Retrieval; assist the software development team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud Information Retrieval.
- Implement complex workflows that manage Cloud Map Reduce analytics.
- Implement code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
- Oversee one or more software development tasks and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.
- Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
- Current TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Eight (8) years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, with at least two (2) years in Big‑Data Cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required, or four (4) years of additional cloud software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

The salary associated with this position ($122,000 – $253,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
