DevOps Software Engineer

Open Systems Technologies Corporation is looking for a Dev Ops Software Engineer to join a high-performing agile team that uses the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to support a nationally significant and fast-paced program. Program execution follows DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, test, and production environments. Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and test automation tools are utilized alongside a full suite of team collaboration tools.

The program is focused on injecting new technology and adding advanced capabilities in support of an ongoing operational system.

Dev Ops is an agile development practice and mindset that uses agile principles (collaboration, communication, utilizing the right tools) to streamline software building, testing, and release. Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) is a Dev Ops methodology for streamlining software development and deployment, focusing on automating processes and enabling faster, more reliable releases.

The selected individual will support Dev Ops activities as a member of an agile development team for a large complex enterprise system. The position requires a dedicated software engineer who will work on a variety of Dev Ops tasking. She/he must have a willingness to learn and use new technologies and methodologies, with a focus on automating processes and ensuring efficient software delivery.

She/he must consider the organization's entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvements.

• Managing tools for development, deployment, and integrated testing.
• Integrating project functions and resources across the entire product life cycle.
• Identifying manual processes that can be automated.
• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools.
• Implementing various development, testing, and automation tools, optimizing IT infrastructure.
• Ensuring that system improvements do not jeopardize system security.
• Striving for improvement, and building continuous integration, development, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).

• Collaborating with and assisting team members across the program as needed.

• Must be cleared with the MD Customer, must have FS poly, last poly must be within last 6 years - no CCAs
• Must have a solid understanding of Dev Ops.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience managing tools for development, deployment, and integrated test.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience working with CI/CD frameworks.
• Must have meaningful System Administration experience (mostly Windows but also Linux).
• Must have experience with several of the following:
  Java, Groovy, Python, Power Shell, Batch, and Bash scripting, JavaScript, Angular
  
  JS.
• Must have experience with IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, Web Storm.
• Must have experience with software source control and configuration management tools.
• Must have experience working in a virtualized environment (managing VMs).
• Must have experience with container-based platforms for automated deployment of applications.
