Position: Software Engineer (ALL LEVELS) TS/SCI Polygraph

Job Summary

Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for Software Engineers (hiring junior level, mid-level, up to senior level) in our Intelligence Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Our team is at the forefront of Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods, Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management.

The Software Engineer will perform software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities as a member of an Agile development team building a large, complex enterprise system. Responsibilities include turning Agile user stories into implementable concepts, developing, unit testing, integrating, testing, and deploying new capabilities. Developers will follow Behavior‑driven Development (BDD), leverage Dev Ops automation, and use test‑automation tools where appropriate. Opportunities include server‑side business logic implementation, client‑side web applications, UI development with Java, Python, embedded C/C++, Java cryptographic framework, XML, Angular/JS/CSS/HTML, and device programming.

Primary Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will be responsible for software development activities individually and as an Agile team member. They will actively participate in daily stand‑ups, Sprint Planning, Program Increment (PI) Planning, analyze complex system requirements, use design software tools, support formal specifications, data‑flow diagrams, and enforce sound software engineering principles. They will provide process management, promote code reuse, create common functions, engineer automation scripts, and deploy them to test and production environments.

Qualifications
  • BS degree with 12‑15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10‑13 years (junior level: BS in Computer Science or related field and at least 2 years of experience). Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with Java.
  • Experience with multiple Java frameworks:
    Spring Boot, JPA, EJB, JTA, Servlet, Jackson, Jersey, Swing, JavaFX.
  • Experience with languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Groovy, SQL.
  • Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, Web Storm.
  • Experience with databases:
    Oracle, Postgre

    SQL, Mongo

    DB, SQL Server.
  • Experience with web UI development, Spring Framework, Angular

    JS, JSON, XML, XSLT.
  • Experience with source‑control and configuration‑management tools.
  • Experience developing on Windows operating systems.
  • Documented professional experience with web services.
  • Strong understanding of sound software development principles.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Independent thinker capable of high‑quality work both individually and with a team in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Clearance Required:

    TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Java EE (EJB, JPA, JTA, JAX‑B, JAX‑RS, JAX‑WS), SQL application servers (Tomcat, Web Logic, JBoss), Spring, and scripting.
  • Experience with XML/XSD/SOAP/WSDL/XSLT, REST, JSON, YAML, containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Open Shift).
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks:
    Angular

    JS, Bootstrap, jQuery.
  • Experience with testing and mocking frameworks: JUnit, Jupiter, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Cucumber, FITNesse, Selenium.
  • Experience with build tools:
    Maven, CMake, RPM, Jenkins, Nexus.
  • Experience developing on Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with cryptographic system technologies (symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, ASN.
    1 encoding, XML canonicalization, digital signatures).
  • Experience with secure systems engineering: requirements decomposition, trade‑off analysis, interface control, testing, continuous integration.
  • Experience with Agile practices:
    Pair Programming, TDD, Refactoring, ATDD.
  • Experience with BDD.
  • Secure software development (Layer 7 Policy).
  • Experience with Scrum, SAFe, Agile certification, or similar methodologies.
