Trilogy® at Lake Frederick:
Shenandoah Lodge & Athletic Club

The "Shenandoah Club" campus includes the Lodge, Athletic Club, and Shoreline Outfitter, and encompasses more than 36,000 square feet of indoor space along with an expansive lakeside veranda and patio beneath. The restaurant, Region’s 117, and the Shenandoah Events Center are open to the public and available for dining reservations and private bookings.

Pay

$15 per hour

Benefits:

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Lifeguard oversees the aquatic complex, ensuring the safety of members and guests in the swimming area. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the “Trilogy Experience” for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the Trilogy 10 and adhering to Blue Star Resort & Golf (BSRG) and facility policies.
  • Help ensure the pool area is only accessed by members and guests, and is safe and secure at all times.
  • Monitor activities in the pool and surrounding area to maintain order and prevent accidents.
  • Report any unsafe or inappropriate situations to a supervisor.
  • Inspect facilities for cleanliness; complete general pool cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Assure emergency equipment (rescue tubes, backboard, signs, and other equipment) is in working order and available at all times.
  • Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforce pool rules and regulations.
  • Administer first aid.
  • Rescue swimmers in distress or in danger of drowning, following the Club’s emergency action plan and established procedures.
  • Perform lifesaving procedures, like CPR, when necessary.
  • Test the chlorine content and pH value of water, using the water testing kit; record daily readings.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS /

SKILLS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three months' of related customer service preferred.
  • Must have current lifeguard training and be a skilled swimmer.
  • Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications, as required by the Club.
  • Aqua group fitness certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of swimming pool sanitation and chlorination systems, and pool equipment and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of lifesaving methods and procedures; ability to perform rescue actions and administer first aid.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing conduct of the public at pools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memorandums.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain a mature presence and speak assertively to pool patrons when necessary.
  • Ability to respond quickly and confidently, while keeping calm in emergencies.
  • Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
