Delivery Driver - CDL Class A

Work Shift and Hours

Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Starting between $31.00 and $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

• Delivery & Transportation
  • Operate tractor‑trailer and box/flatbed trucks (manual and automatic) on assigned routes in the Sterling service area.
  • Deliver electrical materials accurately and on time to job sites,contractor yards, and customer locations.
  • Confirm delivery accuracy before departure and document anydiscrepancies immediately.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch and branch operations if adelivery is at risk of delay.
• Vehicle Operation & Safety
  • Complete thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections every shift—no shortcuts.
  • Operate equipment safely and in full compliance with DOT regulations and Shepherd safety standards.
  • Report mechanical issues, equipment needs, or safety concerns to leadership without delay.
  • Maintain current CDL Class A license, DOT certification, and medicalcard at all times.
• Warehouse Support
  • Assist with loading and unloading as needed, including wrappingpallets and staging outbound freight.
  • Support warehouse operations during non‑driving time, includingpicking and packing customer orders when second shift requires it.
  • Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to ensure loads arebuilt correctly before they leave the building.
• Customer Interaction
  • Represent Shepherd professionally at every delivery—your conduct isthe customer’s experience of our brand.
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with job site personnel and contractors at every stop.
  • Flag any customer feedback, complaints, or concerns to your supervisor the same day they occur.

• Routes run on time and deliveries are complete and correct with rareerrors or missed stops.
• Pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections are completed every shift withoutprompting.
• Discrepancies are documented and communicated on the day they occur.
• Customers and job site contacts report professional, reliableinteractions.
• Vehicle returned in the condition it left—fueled, clean, and ready forthe next run.
• Warehouse team trusts that loads you help stage or pack are correctbefore they leave the building.

• CDL Class A license required.
• Current DOT and medical certification cards required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehiclerecord.
• Ability to operate tractor‑trailer with manual transmission.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. regularly and perform the physical requirements of the role.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain through onsitetraining.
• Available for second shift (6:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.) as business needs require.
• Must pass pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
• Strong verbal communication skills—you relay information clearly andon time.
