Role OverviewThe night shift role focuses on ensuring all outbound orders are prepared accurately before first light. The role comprises approximately 80% warehouse duties—loading trucks, rotating stock, pulling conduit wire, staging freight—and 20% driving responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Load company trucks efficiently and accurately so drivers can depart on schedule without rework.
- Pull and load conduit wire correctly; verify quantities and product before staging.
- Stage outbound freight so the morning team can begin operations immediately without re‑sorting.
- Rotate stock to maintain inventory accuracy and product freshness.
- Process merchandise returns accurately and stage them for proper disposition before the shift ends.
- Maintain product organization in correct bin locations to support the day team.
- Operate forklifts safely and in compliance with certification requirements throughout every shift.
- Follow all safety guidelines and proper lifting techniques while meeting the 80lb. lift requirement.
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager before the shift ends.
- Operate company vehicles safely in compliance with DOT regulations and Shepherd safety standards.
- Trucks loaded correctly and on time – drivers depart without rework or missing product.
- Conduit wire pulled accurately – quantities and products match orders every time.
- Stock rotated and returns processed before shift ends – nothing left for the day team.
- Forklifts and vehicles operated safely every shift – no safety shortcuts or unreported issues.
- Warehouse clean and organized when day team arrives – they can start immediately.
- Warehouse Manager trusts night shift operations run correctly without close supervision.
- Works best when no one is watching and maintains high accuracy.
- Values precision; a wrong load or missed return is taken seriously.
- Physically capable, steady under pressure, and self‑motivated.
- Dependable; teammates and supervisor know the work gets done right.
- Leaves things better than found – trucks loaded, stock rotated, warehouse clean.
- CDL ClassB required;
ClassA preferred. - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3years of warehouse experience preferred; night shift experience a strong plus.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain through onsite training.
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs. using proper technique and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license; current DOT and medical certification cards required.
- Dependable attendance and a team‑oriented mindset.
- Can successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including background check and drug test.
