Role DescriptionThe Lead Driver is a full-time, on-site position based in Frederick, MD, responsible for transporting clients safely and courteously to medical appointments and healthcare facilities. On a day-to-day basis, the Lead Driver operates company vehicles, follows scheduled routes, assists clients with boarding and exiting, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The Lead Driver provides excellent customer service, maintains vehicle cleanliness and readiness, completes required documentation, and models professional conduct for other drivers.
Qualifications- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Pass background checks, drug screenings, and credential requirements (HIPAA, CPR).
- Strong commitment to passenger safety, reliability and punctual work habits.
- Adaptability to multi-state routes, traffic conditions, and different scheduling needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs for assigned vehicles.
- Prior experience in medical or passenger transportation, healthcare logistics, or a similar customer-facing role preferred.
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations in Maryland and supporting states. and ability to use GPS and dispatch instructions effectively.
- Complete additional training and certification: NEMTAC Certified Transport Specialist® (CTS) and Defensive Driving Course.
