Job Title

Director of Faith Formation and Pastor – Part‑time, 25 hours per week.

Employment Status: Part‑time FLSA Status: Non‑exempt (hourly)
Schedule: 25 hours per week – flexible.
Reports to: Director of Faith Formation and Pastor.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct weekly group meetings for high‑school youth.
  • Ensure that all youth events follow the Archdiocesan Policy for Ministering to Minors.
  • Review Behavioral Guidelines with participants and enforce compliance.
  • Provide semester plans to the DFF and core volunteer team before each semester.
  • Collaborate with youth group core volunteers to incorporate them in planning and implementation.
  • Provide training for youth group volunteers.
  • Build relationships with youth, provide guidance, and maintain open communication.
  • Plan and direct retreats for the youth, including the ACTS retreat.
  • Communicate with parents regarding youth; address any issues with parents or guardians.
  • Communicate plans for all events with youth, parents, and volunteers.
  • Conduct ministry operations within the approved budget; obtain approval for any budget exceptions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all staff and agency information.
  • Recruit, oversee and communicate with the Core Team regularly to plan youth group nights.
  • Conduct campus visits to Fredericksburg High School.
  • Update all marketing/outreach tools each week.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor or the Director of Faith Formation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Practicing Roman Catholic with a commitment to personal faith life.
  • High level of discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to be reached by phone.
Education
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience
  • Prior experience in youth ministry is preferred.
License and Credentials
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid vehicle insurance.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel for business purposes may be required.
