Primary Purpose
Substitute for absent teacher or other employee and perform the duties of the absent employee. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area(s) assigned and assist students in fulfilling their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Special Knowledge/Skills- Desire to work with students of all ages and social and ethnic backgrounds
- Proficient in computer skills
- General knowledge of academic subjects, curriculum, and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard classroom equipment, computer, peripherals, electronic devices, telephone
Posture:
Frequent standing/walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion:
Frequent repetitive hand motions, keyboarding, use of mouse, wrist flexion/extension
Lifting:
Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
Environment:
Work outside and inside; exposure to contagious diseases
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions
