PRIMARY PURPOSE
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantages from the District's curriculum and extracurricular programs. To provide routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of school vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education/Certification
High school diploma or equivalent desired

Skills:

- B-CDL license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Annual physical exam
- School bus driver certificate
Minimum Experience
1 year as a technician or bus driver
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESNone
EQUIPMENT USED- Office equipment
- Fueling, servicing and cleaning all equipment
- All safety equipment
- Vehicles (all district used)
- Two-way radio
Mental Demands
- Reading; ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data.
- Ability to concentrate in noisy situations.
- Ability to work with children of all ages.
- Ability to maintain emotion under stress.
Physical Demands
- Strenuous walking, standing, bending over. Work outside and inside, exposure to dust, toxic chemicals and materials, slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Work alone. Frequent district-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours, and possible weekend work. Ability to conduct on-site inspections of all vehicles for safety and maintenance operations.
