Smith Station Elementary School, home of the Sharks, is seeking a skilled Office Para educator to join our growing school division as we begin a new academic year. This position will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities, enhancing organizational efficiency, and contributing to a productive learning environment for students.

• Greets incoming personnel, including check‑in/out procedures for students, parents, and other visitors.
• Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, taking attendance, ordering supplies, and basic troubleshooting.
• Generates reports on student attendance and creates letters to parents regarding student absences.
• Creates and maintains the student attendance database and student records.
• Prepares homework requests per student absences.
• Sorts and distributes all interoffice/postal mail as necessary.
• Works in areas other than the classroom, such as the computer lab or library, as appropriate.
• Performs additional non‑instructional duties including cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty as assigned by the principal or designee.
• Requests transportation for students as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational, or related setting.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Position Type: Contract

Employment may be offered as a 10‑Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.

Salary: $24,737 to $52,114 Per Year
