Germanna Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in Chemistry, both in-person and online. The position requires up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters and/or up to 8 credit hours during the summer session.

• Teach specific classes in Chemistry.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline or field of specialization.

Provide quality instruction, meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, teach prescribed courses of study with established texts, and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Chemistry.
• Ability to effectively teach classrooms and online.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching.
• Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution.

You may be expected to travel to all campus locations.
