Holy Cross Academy, a preschool–8th grade co‑ed Catholic school of 475 students in beautiful, historic Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking a part‑time (20 hours per week) elementary paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year. Holy Cross Academy forms young men and women to be saints, scholars, and leaders in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our Blessed Mother. HCA is the parish school of St.

Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in the Diocese of Arlington.

The paraprofessional will work primarily with an upper elementary student to offer direct one‑on‑one academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional support to an assigned student to ensure the student can successfully access the curriculum and fully participate in the life of the school. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher, learning support teacher, and administration, the paraprofessional assists with instructional activities, organization, classroom engagement, and the implementation of accommodations and support plans.

The paraprofessional fosters independence while providing appropriate guidance and encouragement in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Holy Cross Academy.

The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic, have experience supporting students in a school setting, demonstrate patience, flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to partnering with educators and families to help their student reach their God‑given potential.
