• Salary: $56,000 to $101,332 Per Year

The Teacher develops and implements an instructional program that effectively meets the needs of all students. The Teacher assesses and evaluates student performance and modifies instructional activities as appropriate.

• Practice and promote positive interaction with students by demonstrating enthusiasm and maintaining interest.
• Encourage self‑direction and self‑motivation.
• Adapt instructional presentation to students' needs and interests.
• Maintain an organized program of instruction based on long‑range plans with effective lesson planning.
• Utilize a variety of appropriate materials and resources.
• Communicate lesson objectives and their importance to students.
• Use appropriate and varied teaching techniques and learning activities both in and out of class.
• Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and inform appropriate persons of such progress.
• Complete required reports promptly and accurately.
• Accept responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to the school.
• Maintain a neat, safe environment for students under the teacher’s care.

• Education Attainment (Required): Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or education related to specific subject area.
• Industry Licensure or Certifications (Required): Valid teaching license meeting Commonwealth of Virginia requirements with endorsement in the area assigned.

• Knowledge:
  Thorough knowledge of the subject being taught; classroom management strategies appropriate to learning situation.
