Salary: $54,902 to $104,737 Per Year

Our teachers develop and implement instructional programs that effectively provide the best possible education for each and every student. This role involves teaching and training services across general instruction and specialized subjects while collaborating with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student success.

• Meets and instructs the students in assigned locations and at designated times.
• Designs coherent instruction based on subject matter knowledge, current instructional practices, student needs, the community, and curriculum goals.
• Plans instruction to achieve objectives aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and division curriculum guidelines.
• Prepares for classes assigned and demonstrates lesson preparation upon request from building administrators.
• Diagnoses individual, group, and program needs and plans appropriate use of time, materials, and resources.
• Evaluates students' progress, provides specific feedback, maintains records, and prepares progress reports.
• Uses varied assessment strategies to guide short‑term and long‑term instructional decisions.
• Administers standardized tests following established procedures.
• Identifies and communicates student performance expectations.
• Documents student learning gains with appropriate assessment instruments.
• Demonstrates an understanding of curriculum, subject, and current instructional practices.
• Creates meaningful learning experiences for all students.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board.
• Acceptable rating of prior teaching experience, as applicable.

• Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License in a specific endorsement area(s).
• Prior teaching experience within a public school system.

Employment may be offered as a 10‑Month (200 Day), 10.5‑Month (210 Day), 11‑Month (220 Day) -OR- 12‑Month (240 Day) contract, with a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. The position is evaluated annually. Additional compensation is awarded for credits earned toward advanced degrees.
