About the Role
TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team. This is a critical backfill position requiring a highly skilled professional with strong expertise in end-to-end networking, wireless technologies, and Cisco solutions. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent troubleshooting skills and experience working in on-prem environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Cisco end-to-end network infrastructure including routing, switching, and wireless solutions.
- Configure and manage Cisco Wireless systems and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Administer and troubleshoot firewalls, with a strong focus on Palo Alto solutions.
- Perform on-premises troubleshooting and resolve complex network issues promptly.
- Collaborate with network architects and team members to ensure optimal network performance and security.
- Participate in lift-and-shift projects and network upgrades.
- Full-time, 5 days onsite.
- Majority of work is centered around Cisco technologies, with some exposure to Palo Alto (limited firewall responsibilities).
- Looking for someone who can be guided through processes and support large projects, including acquisitions.
- Not seeking a deep expert; some experience with the ability to learn quickly is ideal.

Skills & Qualifications Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Cisco ISE (required).
- Proficiency with Cisco switching and routing (essential-primary focus).
- Exposure to Palo Alto technologies (nice to have; no firewall-heavy work).
- Cisco wireless experience (nice to have).
- CCNA or CCNP.
- If CCNA only, hands‑on experience is required.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
