The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a dedicated and experienced Utility Projects Manager to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in leading and managing public utility projects, overseeing the development, design, and construction of utility maintenance and capital improvement initiatives.

UTILITY PROJECTS MANAGER

Hiring Range: $82,904 - $125,000 DOQ

• Lead and manage public utility projects
• Oversee the development, design, and construction of utility maintenance and capital improvement projects
• Coordinate with city departments and external organizations
• Ensure high levels of customer service and stakeholder satisfaction

• Manage all phases of the project life-cycle from initiation to closure
• Deliver projects within scope, resources, time, and budget constraints
• Assist in developing and administering water and sewer programs

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in utility construction, operations, or project management
• 3-5 years’ experience in municipal public works operations, administration, or project management in a local government setting
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) Certificate

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia, or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire
