Project Engineer – EMF/RF
Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Duration: 6 months, contract to hire
Hybrid Work Schedule
Duties- Provide EMF/RF analysis and problem resolution using advanced technical simulation modeling software
- Conduct EMF/RFI site surveys and apply industry best practices to mitigate interference
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and value engineering analyses
- Perform technical investigation studies for complex projects requiring atypical designs
- Develop and implement engineering processes to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary design teams to refine EMF/RF solutions
- Review and comment on contractor RFIs, material submittals, and shop drawings
- Support project and construction management teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Work in a lab environment assembling, modifying, and testing prototypes
- Document and specify components/assemblies including materials, processes, tolerances, and inspection techniques
- Proficiency in EMF/RF analysis, simulation tools, and interference mitigation techniques
- Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles and RF system design
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively
- Minimum of 2 years of quantum engineering experience
- Experience performing EMF/RF site surveys, modeling, and analysis
- Hands‑on experience in laboratory environments, including prototype development and testing
- Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
- Experience working with cross‑functional engineering and design teams
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc) in Electrical Engineering required
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification completed or planned within 8 months
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%)
- Demonstrated initiative and a strong desire to build technical knowledge
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
