Job Summary /Basic FunctionsThe University of Mary Washington has an opportunity to join the team as an Accounts Receivable Technician. This position serves as the primary point of contact in the Student Accounts Customer Service Center, providing excellent customer service in‑person, via telephone or email across all levels of responsibility. The Technician independently manages third‑party billing and assists in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounts receivable transactions.
RequiredKSAs / Competencies / Qualifications
- Working knowledge of accounting and general business practices, including AR policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and assist in preparation of financial reports and documents.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with computerized accounting systems.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to analyze financial transactions and reports.
- Experience working in a business office.
- Experience with accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge and prior experience with Ellucian Banner.
- Completion of a college degree from an accredited institution in accounting or a related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
