* Job Summary:

To observe, document, and communicate cardiac rhythms at the telemetry station under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public and our co-workers.
** Essential Functions & Responsibilities:*
* * Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac rhythms.
* Documents rhythm strips according to Care Center policy.
* Maintains communication with appropriate nurse regarding telemetry concerns.
* Responds appropriately in emergency situations.
* Maintains a safe and orderly environment by assuming responsibility for organizing and coordinating the telemetry station.
* Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development.
* Contributes to the continuous quality improvement process.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or GED required.
* Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Course required within 45 days of hire.
* Successfully pass the Basic Arrhythmia test within three attempts.

* Physical Requirements:

** Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, and sitting; occasional (0-33% of workday) bending, stooping, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination.
** Mental Requirements:
** Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.  Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
** Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards:
** Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals.  Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
