Position Summary

RISE Services is seeking an experienced Part‑Time HR Generalist to serve as an embedded member of our organization, managing employee relations and HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle following onboarding. This role integrates fully into RISE Services’ internal systems, policies, and workflows and functions as the primary HR resource for employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. This position is well‑suited for a seasoned HR professional who values flexibility, exercises strong professional judgment, and is comfortable handling sensitive HR matters independently while partnering closely with leadership.

Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Investigations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters across RISE Services
  • Conduct and document internal investigations related to complaints, misconduct, and policy violations
  • Advise leadership on corrective action, disciplinary decisions, and terminations in compliance with federal and Virginia employment law
  • Prepare documentation and represent the organization in unemployment claims and hearings
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Manage HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle following onboarding, including performance management support and offboarding
  • Execute compliant termination and separation processes
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential employee records within RISE Services’ HR systems
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and documentation standards
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits using RISE Services’ existing benefits platforms and vendors
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions, enrollments, and changes
  • Support open enrollment and benefits communications
Systems Integration & Internal Collaboration
  • Work directly within RISE Services’ HR, payroll, benefits, and documentation systems
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems
  • Collaborate with leadership and administrative staff to align HR practices with operational needs
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in HR processes and recommend improvements
Advisory & Risk Management
  • Provide practical HR guidance to leadership on employee management, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Monitor trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or employee relations‑focused role
  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, investigations, terminations, and unemployment matters
  • Working knowledge of federal and Virginia employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and unemployment regulations)
  • Experience working directly within organizational HR and payroll systems
  • Strong documentation, communication, and professional judgment skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive matters independently
Preferred
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, SPHR, or SHRM‑SCP)
  • Experience in a part‑time, embedded, or fractional HR role
  • Experience supporting small to mid‑sized organizations or human services organizations
Work Structure
  • Approximately 10–15 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling with availability during standard business hours for time‑sensitive employee relations matters
  • Remote or hybrid work may be considered, with periodic on‑site presence as needed
