• Deliver precise, effective sign language interpreting during classroom lessons, assemblies, school activities, and field trips
• Bridge communication between students, educators, staff, and peers, ensuring everyones voice is heard
• Support student participation in both general education and special education settings
• Offer insights and feedback to team members regarding any communication barriers
• Uphold strict confidentiality and model professionalism at all times
• Engage in IEP meetings, staff discussions, and training sessions when interpretation is required
• Follow all school district guidelines and protocols
• Adjust interpreting strategies to meet students individual learning and developmental needs

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and interpreting
• VQAS Level III or equivalent qualification, or an EIPA Written Test with a minimum performance score of 3.5
• Previous K-12 interpreting experience preferred
• Familiarity with IEPs, special education practices, and collaborating on student support teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma required; postsecondary education or interpreter training highly valued
