Electrical Maintenance Mechanic / PLC Maintenance Technician$25–$35 per hour (depending on experience)
We are hiring an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic for our Fredericksburg, PA processing facility
. This role is electrical-first
— we need someone who understands
industrial electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, motors, and controls
, and can still handle the mechanical side when needed.
If you’re the maintenance tech who gets called when machines won’t reset, sensors won’t read, or production is down because of an electrical or PLC issue — this is your lane.
What You’ll Be Doing- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled production equipment
- Diagnose electrical issues involving sensors, VFDs, motors, control panels, relays, and wiring
- Perform industrial electrical maintenance (480V, 3-phase, control circuits)
- Assist with PLC troubleshooting (inputs/outputs, fault finding, not heavy programming)
- Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical prints
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair equipment components
- Support maintenance needs in receiving, picking room, evisceration, debone, Cryovac, and tray pack areas
- Perform welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, and basic mechanical repairs as needed
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and on-call maintenance situations (30-minute response time)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop and work area
- Cold and refrigerated areas
- Exposure to poultry blood
- Confined spaces at times
- Physical work: standing, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs
- Electrical Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician with production experience
- Strong background in industrial electrical systems and controls
- Hands‑on experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment
- Knowledge of motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control panels
- Ability to perform multi‑craft maintenance when needed (mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics)
- Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to read, write, and understand English
Mechanically inclined candidates with strong electrical aptitude will be trained
Tools & Skills- Electrical testing equipment (meters, testers, diagnostics)
- Hand and power tools for industrial maintenance
- Company provides required tools to safely perform the job
- $25–$35 per hour
, based on experience - Full-time,
40+ hours per week - Monday–Friday
- Night shift / Overnight shift
- Overtime and weekends as needed
