PositionDescription:
The Workforce Development employee helps to equip newcomers to the U.S. with the necessary skills to enter and advance in the workforce. This position supports clients with accessing short term vocational training and ESL to include initial enrollment and ongoing monitoring of client participation successful completion. This position serves as the primary case manager for all RSSEP clients enrolled in MRS-funded short term training leading to industry recognized credentials.
This role is contingent on grant funding.
- Enrolls clients in appropriate education and training options
- Receives ESL and training referrals from employment case managers.
- Completes client enrollment and registration processes with training and ESL providers and coordinates required documentation and fees.
- Per Agency standards, manages training-related billing, invoices, and payment tracking
- Monitors client attendance, participation, and progress throughout training and addresses barriers to participation and completion
- Per Agency standards, documents training progress and outcomes in all required platforms such as Refugee Solutions. Maintains accurate client files and data for internal monitoring, audits, and funder reporting
- Serves as the primary case manager for all clients enrolled in MRS-funded ESL and training programs updating relevant stakeholders as needed
- Coordinates with employment case managers to align training participation with job placement goals and post-training employment services
- Collaborates with MRS employment staff, training providers, and community partners to support training and employment outcomes
- Develops and maintains a directory of training providers, eligibility requirements, costs, schedules, and enrollment procedures.
- Supports promotion of training opportunities and ESL through client e-newsletter.
- Participates in staff meetings, trainings, and cross-program coordination activities
- Consults with program staff to coordinate training referrals, enrollment processes, and case management transitions
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
- Willingness to uphold Catholic social teaching in the workplace
- Ability to coordinate services with external training providers and manage enrollment and billing processes
- Effective interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Fluency in Microsoft office, excel, and other relevant software
- Ability to learn new tasks and procedures, comply with processes, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse populations
- Associate degree with 3-5 years’ experience required or bachelor’s degree in social services field preferred
- Experience in workforce development, education, case management, or human services
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license, have a good driving record (including 3+ positive points on the VA Motor Vehicle Record), and have at least three years of US driving experience. Willing to drive clients.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Specific vision requirements due to computer work and driving a motor vehicle. Light to moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
