Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA)

Position Summary

Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) focused on oncology and hematology. The provider delivers medical oncology and hematology care in collaboration with physicians and other team members. Responsibilities include patient follow‑up, symptom management, acute care, and supportive care across all stages of cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical and psychosocial assessments via interview, history, exam and diagnostic studies.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging and other diagnostic investigations.
  • Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, therapeutic measures and post‑discharge care in accordance with protocols.
  • Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials.
  • Document progress notes, discharge summaries, and follow‑up letters to referring physicians.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide updates to the treating physician.
  • Provide on‑call coverage and, when required, perform hospital rounds.
  • Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
  • Assist staff during crises or emergencies.
  • Meet with the public to promote cancer treatment services and collaborate with community partners.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and comply with all privacy, safety and employment regulations.
  • Assist in training new staff and help maintain orderly work areas and records.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program;
    Master’s degree required.
  • Current APRN or PA license and prescriptive privileges (or eligibility to apply).
  • Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN‑P) and BLS certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of oncology practice experience.

Travel & Work Hours
  • Travel less than 25% of the time.
  • Standard core days:
    Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
