The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a direct care provider who possesses the knowledge and skills required for the delivery of safe, competent anesthesia care. Within this role, the CRNA provides anesthesia for general, regional and sedation cases. The process begins with a thorough pre-operative evaluation, continues with intra-operative care management and extends through transition of care to the post-operative healthcare provider.
CRNA's practice according to their expertise, state statutes/regulations and institutional policy. This position reports to the Division of Nursing and Physician Services.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, including medical history review, medication evaluation, and informed consent.
- Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists and surgical teams.
- Administer a full range of anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local, and sedation.
- Perform and manage advanced regional anesthesia techniques such as epidurals, nerve blocks, and intravenous regional anesthesia.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and responses throughout procedures, adjusting anesthetic care to ensure safety and stability; manage airway and pulmonary status using evidence-based modalities.
- Provide thorough postoperative care, including safe emergence, pain management, and smooth transitions to recovery teams.
- Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and perioperative teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
We are seeking experienced candidates with the following qualifications and expertise:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a CRNA through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Active RN and APRN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or ability to obtain).
- Experience in anesthesia delivery and perioperative care strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Compensation Pay Range:
$105.22 - $138.89
