American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Level III NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Work in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) of a Level II Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:00
- Required to work 4 weekends per 4-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope of practice to Pediatrics and Well Baby Nursery units
- Uses Epic EMR (preferred, not required)
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; RNC-NIC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Experience with UAC and UVC placement and maintenance required
- Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required
- Experience with invasive and noninvasive ventilation required
- Experience with IV access and maintenance required
- Experience with conscious sedation required
- Skilled in procedures including Replogle, chest tubes, thoracentesis, and venous/arterial blood sampling
- Experience with surfactant administration required
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Provide specialized nursing care for neonatal patients with diagnoses including extreme prematurity, RDS, TTN, infection/sepsis, medical NEC, PPHN, pneumothorax, MAS, poor feeding, glucose instability, late-preterm, and respiratory conditions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
