Interior Designer

Job Summary

An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program and personalized client solutions while reflecting the company’s ethos around people, processes, products, and brand. The role requires translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and fortifying sales teams with design expertise.

• Promote the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, draft design solutions, and present customized portfolio presentations to meet or exceed store and individual design sales goals.
• Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and vision.
• Partner with Store and Sales Managers to coach, train, and support sales teams, improving design culture, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
• Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and decor that translate client lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable recommendations.
• Ensure proper execution of systems and administrative procedures, support store management with meetings, special projects, and promotions.
• Uphold brand visual standards and maintain a clean store environment.
• Adhere to legal and accounting practices and maintain operational excellence.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of sales or interior design experience with a residential emphasis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, computer‑aided design programs, and financial understanding.
• Strong interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred:
  Design certification and advanced presentation skills.

• Training pay: $20 per hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commission).
• Post‑training base pay: $26,000 per year.
• Uncapped commission on written sales: 3.5% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales.
• Monthly bonus opportunity of up to $2,000 based on meeting specific individual sales goals.

• May lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Required to operate a motor vehicle.
• Standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
• Background and drug screening required.
