Our client is seeking Therapeutic Mentors to support children, adolescents, and young adults in the Fredericksburg region.
Therapeutic Mentors provide individualized, community-based support to young people experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. This role is ideal for dependable, compassionate individuals who enjoy working directly with youth and helping them strengthen the skills needed to navigate everyday life.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and skill-building support.
- Help clients develop coping, problem-solving, emotional regulation, communication, and social skills.
- Support goals established through individual treatment or service plans.
- Develop engaging activities, lessons, and structured programming.
- Transport clients to and from scheduled services and activities as required.
- Build positive, professional relationships with clients and families.
- Communicate appropriately with parents, guardians, case workers, supervisors, schools, and treatment-team members.
- Complete required progress notes, reports, and service documentation accurately and on time.
- Participate in required supervision, staff meetings, and training.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and reliability.
- Ability to pass required background checks and maintain required certifications.
