GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Specialist performs warehouse operations in support of the USMC MEDLOG (Medical Logistics) program. This position ensures that the daily functions and procedures of the warehouse run smoothly and efficiently. Tasks include shipping and receiving to maintain inventory and keeping close tabs on all facets of warehouse operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Fulfill orders and package items for shipment.
- Maintain detailed receiving logs to account for all materials that enter the warehouse.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the warehouse.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse or other areas.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor.
- Receive and count stock items and record data manually or on computer.
- Mark stock items using electric marking tools or other labeling equipment.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, and shipments.
- Operate machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a related field.
- Must maintain a forklift certification.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the warehousing field.
- Knowledge of or experience in medical supply handling, logistics, or regulated environments, i.e. MEDLOG is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic data analysis.
- Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment.
