Finance & Operations Professional (Part Time)

Location:

Toronto, Canada (Hybrid). Work part-time, up to 20 hours per week.

At Axxiome, we support North American operations by ensuring effective financial coordination, accounting oversight, and legal and regulatory compliance. The role works closely with global Finance and Operations teams to maintain efficient processes and support our continued growth.

Responsibilities

Work in a hybrid model in our office in Toronto, on a part-time basis (max. 20h per week).

  • Maintain and update accounting records, including general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, customer reconciliations, and sales tax reconciliations.
  • Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting in coordination with the Europe-based finance team.
  • Cooperate with banks, tax offices, insurance, legal authorities, customers and suppliers to coordinate payments, shipments, and contractual matters across the Americas.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and monthly financial statements/statutory reports (e.g. T4s, payroll summaries), including AMEX credit card reconciliations.
  • Liaise with group benefit providers in Canada and the US (medical plans, 401(k), RRSP, etc.).
  • Support maintains clear policies, procedures, and governance practices across legal entities, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines.

Division of responsibilities: 50% Operations & Finance Support, 20% Governance & Compliance Management, 15% Payroll, 15% Reporting.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in finance operation-related roles.
  • Experience managing the office environment and ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning.
  • Comfortable supporting budgeting, payroll reconciliation, and working closely with Finance.
  • Experience with company documents workflow and corporate governance.
  • Hands‑on experience processing bi‑weekly payroll in Canada and/or the U.S., including compliance, remittances, and year‑end reporting (e.g., T4s / W‑2s).
  • Experience working in culturally rich and diverse organizations (the US or LATAM preferred).
  • Highly organized and exceptional time‑management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to listen, collaborate, and build professional, inclusive relationships with varying audiences.
  • Comfortable independently and collaboratively solving problems, making decisions, and supporting change.

Your First Three Months First Month

Familiarize with governance framework, financial processes, accounting practices, compliance requirements, attend onboarding, meet Finance and operational teams, review documentation and office management activities.

Second Month

Begin supporting core Finance & Operations tasks, including invoice and expense management, compliance monitoring, and operational administration; collaborate with global teams and support governance requirements; take responsibility for office operations.

Third Month

Manage key Finance & Operations processes independently, including financial coordination, compliance tracking, and operational support; identify opportunities for improvement, enhance reporting, and strengthen operational efficiency in North American operations.
