What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for effectively managing and growing a portfolio of cash management, lending and investment products and services that increase overall profit contribution to CIBC Private Wealth Management. You will also support overall client needs for broader Wealth Advisory services, including Investment, Retirement and Estate Planning Services.
How You’ll Succeed- Build a portfolio of High‑Net‑Worth (HNW) clients focused on banking, credit and investment needs.
- Perform risk assessment and in‑depth financial analysis on potential and existing HNW clients.
- Resolve complex credit issues in collaboration with Credit Specialists and Commercial Banking.
- Provide specialized services to key HNW markets, including professional partners of major law, accounting and medical businesses and private banking clients of Wood Gundy.
- Review client portfolios holistically to identify opportunities to broaden their suite of products and services.
- Meet regularly with clients to conduct portfolio reviews and introduce new product and service solutions.
- Understand wealth generation for small to medium‑enterprise owners and the complexities of monetizing their value.
- Acquire new clients with sophisticated financial needs, people of influence, and those requiring complex global financial solutions.
- Search for and develop untapped opportunities to promote CIBC Private Wealth Management within the HNW market.
- Represent CIBC on boards, participate in charitable organizations and engage in appropriate social networks.
- Play an active role in large deal teams focusing on ultra‑HNW clients, especially with introductions from Commercial Banking.
- Continuously update your knowledge and skills by staying current on economic, financial, product and legislative developments and proactively communicating changes to clients.
- Be involved in the community through participation in industry associations and help build a qualified network of target clients.
- You are a certified professional with current accreditation and good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization – Investment Dealer (CIRO-) to support investments administered under this platform.
- You hold the Professional Financial Planning Course and continuing education to Certified Financial Planner designation.
- You have experience in personal financial planning concepts and strong knowledge of all banking, investment and credit products and services.
- You have experience in private banking, wealth advisory or brokerage.
- You put our clients first and have relationship‑management skills sufficient to build strong relationships and identify partnership and consolidation opportunities.
- You have demonstrated success in building and maintaining new client relationships.
- You have an established profile in the local business community and knowledge of diverse marketplace needs.
