We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sector Leader (RSL) within Energy & Resources, who will focus on growth for our Mining Sector within our Canada East Region (Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick).
The Regional Sector Leader (RSL) is a key part of E&R’s regional business leadership. Reporting through the Sector Leader (SL), RSLs are part of the WIN pillar. The RSL is a seller/doer responsible for developing solid client relationships, a deep understanding of the sectors they support, full knowledge of what Stantec can do, and leading pursuits within their sector(s) and respective geographies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute regional sector growth strategies, working closely with BC Practice Leaders (BCPLs), Technical Practice Leaders (TPLs), and Project Technical Leads (PTLs).
- Identify, pursue, win, and deliver strategic sector projects that align with regional priorities, sector growth plans, and business goals.
- Lead market intelligence efforts, monitoring trends and drivers to shape business plans and drive the development pipeline.
- Meet utilization targets (35%) through involvement in regional and sector-focused projects and enhance client relationships.
- Align promotional spend with brand objectives to enhance the industry brand within the region.
- Collaborate with Sector Leaders, BCPLs, and Account Managers to drive technical approach development, solutions differentiation, and pursuit success.
- Provide insight into sector trends and staffing needs, ensuring the pipeline reflects accurate opportunities.
- Support annual strategic planning by defining region‑specific priorities, sales targets, marketing strategies, and key performance indicators.
- Act as a liaison between sector teams and the region, coordinating priorities and ensuring accurate forecasting in the Net Revenue Forecasting tool.
- Recruit, coach, and mentor a team of professionals to grow the business and support succession planning.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience within the mining sector, including 10 years of direct involvement in or managing pursuits/proposals for engineering design and/or construction services.
- Deep knowledge of multi‑discipline engineering services for sector‑focused projects and a strong understanding of delivery with geographically distributed teams.
- Ability to travel up to 20% and work outside normal hours of operation.
- Valid driver’s licence.
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec, certain roles are bonus eligible. Compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
