Position: Incumbent, Parish of Wicklow, Wilmot, Peel and Aberdeen, Diocese Anglican Diocese Followers of Jesus, sharing hope and

The Bishop of Fredericton seeks to appoint a priest and incumbent to the Anglican Parish of Wicklow, Wilmot, Peel and Aberdeen in the Diocese of Fredericton.

The Parish of Wicklow, Wilmot, Peel and Aberdeen currently serves the communities of Florenceville-Bristol (Church of the Good Shepherd) and Glassville (Christ Church), while actively ministering to a 1400 square kilometer area towards the northwest corner of New Brunswick. A third church building, St. Barnabas in Greenfield, is only used on occasion. A rectory is located in Florenceville-Bristol.

This is a committed, active, and close-knit parish with warm, friendly, and welcoming members who are eager to grow in faith, deepen their outreach, and share God’s love more widely. The congregation consists primarily of dedicated seniors with big hearts and capacity to serve, along with some younger families and a few but much-treasured children.

Worship, primarily at Good Shepherd and seasonally at Christ Church, is a blend of formal and informal liturgical styles, grounded in Anglican tradition with classic hymns and more modern songs, assisted by faithful layreaders and talented musicians. The parish has active outreach ministries and is committed to ecumenical cooperation.

Clergy from outside the diocese should confirm that they have their bishop’s permission to explore a possible appointment outside of their own diocese. A confidential reference may also be requested from your diocesan bishop and in addition to other references.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a valid criminal record and vulnerable sector check and may be required to authorize a credit check.

Contact the bishop’s office for a more detailed parish profile.
